The Probus Club of Exeter & District was formed in 1983 and meets regularly once a month at the Exeter Golf
& Country Club. It has a maximum membership of 60 and draws its members from
Exeter and from a 25 mile radius of the City. Membership is open to retired
professional or business men. Apart from monthly talks by guest speakers, a variety of social events are planned to which partners are invited; these include social trips to places of interest, visits to the theatre and pub lunches. Trips have included a visit to the Met Office and the National Trust property at Tyntesfield. The monthly talks cover a wide range of interesting topics and stimulate much discussion at the meeting, in the bar and over lunch.
